WMG / Inspector Gadget (2015)

Go To

If Corporal Capeman is to appear, he will only get a cameo and be subjected to a Take That, Scrappy!

It is true that the second season is often despised by fans, one reason being that Capeman was mean to Brain and pretty much only served to make Gadget look more competent in comparison.

Press releases have stated that the 2015 series is actually a sequel to the original show, beginning with Gadget coming out of retirement to once again combat Dr. Claw and his M.A.D. agents.

This theory is posted only because it is not clear whether or not the second season is still canon, plus nobody known to have worked on the show ever officially declared the second season to be apocryphal, nor did any of them ever state that they hated how the second season turned out.

Claw's decreased intelligence is a side effect of him being frozen for all those years
  • I'm going to blame the fact that Claw is a man out of time for his new lackluster plans. Being frozen then thawed might have taken its toll, but I prefer to think that his old plans just don't seem as intimidating any more.
  • That, or some of his brain cells might have been destroyed from being frozen for so long.

Penny's old computer book will appear
Maybe while looking through some old memorabilia or having to use it when her current tech is unavailable.
  • She runs into a Russian agent with the same make of computer book she had. ("A Falcon Mk. IV!")

Claw will chew out Talon for constantly giving away their plans
"No matter how much you criticize me for my plans, you still constantly give them away the second a pretty girl bats her eyelashes at you!"

Talon is William Thaw
Billy took the news that his entire family were evil masterminds a bit hard at first, but came around to it, eventually.

We'll finally learn what became of Penny's parents
come on, don't act like you've never wondered

That isn't the original Mad Cat
Noting that Mad Cat was in Dr. Claw's recruitment video that dated at least back to the mid-seventies, and the life span of the avg. domestic shorthair is about ten-12 years—and coupled with the fact that this version is clearly a girl—it's safe to assume that the original Mad Cat died of old age or possibly all the abuse he took at the doctor's metal hands. The one we see now is the original Mad Cat's descendant, and, not being terribly imaginative at pet-naming, Claw simply names all his cats "Mad Cat", regardless of sex. To his credit, as evil as he is, the doctor has finally learned to treat his pet nicely.
  • Nope, the time travel episode establishes that it's one in the same MAD Cat.

Talon will eventually pull a Heel–Face Turn.
All because of Penny.
