WMG / Donkey Hodie

Go To

Donkey Hodie is a genetic clone of Grampy Hodie.
Grampy was unable to have children for whatever reason, so he genetically modified his own DNA and produced Donkey Hodie. However, Grampy is far too old to be a parent, so he takes on the role of a grandparent to keep up appearances. He also never tells Donkey about her parents, because they don't exist.

  • Adding on to this theory, in case something happened, he made more clones of Donkey, unbeknownst to her, and called them her 'cousins.' One of these cousins includes Dodie Hodie, introduced in the episode appropriately titled "Dodie Hodie." She looks just like Donkey except she has a short, orange mane. This is because Grampy changed some of Donkey's DNA to make Dodie. The clones are also capable of growing beyond their programming, since the episode revolves around Dodie and Donkey liking different things.
    • Cousin Hodie, however, is not a direct clone of Donkey, but of Grampy. Cousin is the second clone that Grampy made of himself after Donkey. This explains why he is blue, is male, and has such a generic name like "Cousin." After Donkey proved successful, Grampy stopped cloning himself after creating Cousin, and all future clones he made would be made from Donkey's DNA.
  • The clones live far away from Grampy and Donkey. Dodie mentions living in "Another Place." For all we know, Grampy could have an entire tank of Donkey clones floating in a basement.
  • Dodie mentions having developed an allergy to nutter butter soufflĂ©, meaning that the clones can also change biologically.

Daniel Tiger will appear in an episode of this show.
Since we already have King Friday as a recurring character, it's a possibility that Daniel might make an appearance as well. If he's represented as he originally appeared, this wouldn't be a problem, but should they decide to use the version from Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood to represent him, they may have to use another voice actor because the cast of Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood is Canadian, while the cast of Donkey Hodie is American. Or maybe we'll get lucky and they'll fly in Daniel's voice actor from Canada to provide the voice while another person puppeteers him, similar to Michael Yarmush's cameo as Arthur on Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. Of course, given that Daniel Tiger has already had several voice actors, either way ends up being The Other Darrin.

Harriet Elizabeth Cow is Donkey Hodie's mom.
First off, both characters have the same hair color. Second, the original Donkey Hodie was often shown with Harriet Elizabeth Cow in the original Mister Rogers' Neighborhood series.
  • Probably jossed. Donkey never refers to her as her mother, just as Harriet Elizabeth.

Purple Panda, Bob Dog and Duck Duck are all the children of previous characters
We know the current Donkey Hodie is the granddaughter of the original one, so maybe the current Purple Panda is son or grandson of the original one, same with the current Bob Dog and Duck Duck is the daughter or granddaughter of Audrey Duck.
  • We do know that there's a character named Uncle Panda who refers to Purple Panda as his nephew. It's likely that this could probably be the original Purple Panda.
  • Jossed in the case of Duck Duck; the creators have mentioned that she is a completely original character not related to Audrey.
