What An Idiot / Donkey Hodie

Go To

For a show about a energetic and outgoing protagonist, sometimes she (and sometimes her friends) make silly mistakes.

  • In "Planet Purple Party", Donkey Hodie and Purple Panda are on their way to Planet Purple for Mama Panda's birthday. They have to bring certain things with them for the party.
You'd Expect: For Donkey Hodie to ask Panda if he bought everything he needed with him.
Instead: They take off, and Panda realizes he forgot the card for his mom. This then turns into a Running Gag of forgetting things.
Result: After forgetting many items, they almost lose Panda's spaceship. It's at this point when Donkey considers making a list of items.

  • In "Super Duper Sleepover", Donkey Hodie and Purple Panda play with toys before going to sleep.
You'd Expect: For Donkey and Panda to clean up the mess they made before going to sleep.
Instead: They leave the toys on the floor.
Result: The silhouette left by the toys causes the duo to believe that there is a monster, possibly causing them to lose some sleep.

  • In "The Yodel Birds Are Coming", Donkey Hodie and Bob Dog are assigned with building a stand for the Yodel Birds' rest nest.
You'd Expect: For the duo to take their time and follow the diagram that they were provided with.
Instead: They rush and randomly throw the blocks where they see fit.
    Result: The base falls apart.

  • In "A Lot Of Hot", Donkey is trying to make lemonade, and Duck Duck gives her a giant lemon. She leaves soon afterwards.
You'd Expect: Donkey to tell Duck Duck to come back and ask her what else she needs to make lemonade.
Instead: She takes a whole bunch of her belongings with her, among them a butterfly net, a baby bottle, an umbrella, a harp, an accordion, 2 plastic flamingos, a baseball, a hot dog and a sandwich, none of which seem to be useful for making lemonade. When she comes back, Duck Duck even lampshades the fact that everything she chose is random.

  • In "Flying Flapjacks", Donkey wants to make flying flapjacks for Grampy, but doesn't know how to make them.
You'd Expect: Donkey to ask her friends how to make flying flapjacks.
Instead: She just throws random ingredients into a bowl and puts it in the oven.
Result: She cooks something that isn't even a flying flapjack. It is only at this point when she even considers asking her friends for help.

  • In "Pickle Penguin Problem", Donkey notices that a pickle in the box Panda is holding looks similar to what he claimed was a Pickle Penguin.
You'd Expect: Donkey to ask Panda about this before taking the pickle and playing with it.
Instead: She takes the pickle without asking if it also a Pickle Penguin, causing Panda to panic because it's a Pickle Piranha.
Result: Panda grabs the Pickle Penguin from Donkey and it gets caught in between two rocks.

  • In "Chili Jamboree", after singing to get Bob Dog's mind off of the chili, Bob Dog uses a euphemism to describe how successful Donkey Hodie, Purple Panda and his singing was in entertaining him. Purple Panda knows what the euphemism means, but isn't sure if he should say it. Donkey tells him not to do so, because she knows what will happen.
You'd Expect: For Panda to listen to Donkey.
Instead: He asks "The delicious chili?".
Result: Bob Dog goes crazy and impatient again. Donkey even reacts to this as if Panda made a poor decision.

  • In "Cheesy Con", Donkey is looking for her cheese hat and throws various toys on the floor while doing so. After she finds it, her doorbell rings.
You'd Expect: Given that there was an entire episode on the importance of cleaning up a few episodes prior, Donkey would clean up the mess before letting the visitor in.
Instead: She asks "Who is it?" right away.
Result: She trips on one of the toys that she threw on the ground looking for the hat, a toy dump truck, and sprains her foot.
