Get To the Orange Door, or GTTOD, is a Roguelite First-Person Shooter developed by Andrew Smith (known online as low_hanging_nuts) and published by Hitcents. The game was released in Early Access on May 30, 2019, and has maintained a constant development cycle, with a full release to be announced.

The player takes control of an unnamed armored protagonist, who, after getting pulled into a strange neon mountain world called the Shatter, fights his way to the summit, acquiring new abilities and weapons along the way.

The gameplay loop consists of fighting your way through hordes of enemies and acquiring new weapons until you reach the titular Orange Door at the end. Combat and traversal through the levels is heavily inspired by Titanfall 2, with the ability to wall-run, slide, and air-dash through levels.

GTTOD provides examples of the follwing tropes:

  • Anti-Frustration Features:
    • The location of the door, bunkers, and the Grab-a-Gun machine will always appear on the compass regardless of whether or not you have a scanner equipped.
    • Cursed and Blessed bunkers will have either an orange or blue torch respectively situated directly outside of the door, preventing you from wasting a key.
    • Lootables can be opened by shooting them, helping maintain the flow of the game. In addition, all items save for powerups are magnetized to the player.
  • Synthwave: The game practically bleeds this, with an artstyle deliberately evocative of classic synthwave covers and with music to match.
  • Early Game Hell: When you start, all you have is a pistol, your fists, some concussion grenades, and a scanner. Given how quickly Threat Level can be raised, the humble pistol can quickly become less-than-effective.
  • Fun with Acronyms: The Build-a-Bang Engine
  • Shout-Out:
    • The Assault Rifle is a fusion of the MA5D and Flatline.
    • The Typhoon (gotten via putting the SMG through the BABE) is a reference to Cruelty Squad, complete with a grinning face on the side of the magazine.
    • The Loki's SMG mode distinctly resembles that of an Alternator.
    • Putting the Revolver through the BABE results in the Big Iron.
  • Tarot Motifs: The game has a list of semi-permanent buffs and debuffs named Blessings and Curses, respectively, each named after a certain Tarot card.
