• Creator Backlash: Ray Milland called this film "terrible" in a later interview.
• Pop-Culture Urban Legends: Supposedly, after the ending where the main character tears out his eyes he says "I can still see!" However, after showing the movie on his show, Svengoolie stated that those involved with the film have said no such line was ever filmed.
• What Could Have Been: One of the original script drafts involved Xavier being a jazz musician, who starts to get x-ray vision after taking too many drugs.
  • A remake directed by Tim Burton was announced in the late 90's, however it ended up being shelved when the studio, Orion Pictures, went through management changes.
