Trivia / Venus Blood -Hollow-

• Marth Debuted in "Smash Bros.": With the exceptions of regular Loki and Hvedrung from -Frontier-, every Guest Fighter in the -Hollow- edition originates from a Venus Blood game that had not been localized prior to its release.
• Milestone Celebration: The -Hollow- edition celebrates the 14th anniversary of the first Venus Blood game released. As such, during the game's crowdfunding period, the Kickstarter update revealing the winners of a backer-only poll to decide new content announced an increase of the number of participating Guest Fighters from other Venus Blood games to 14 characters. However, following the final votes, the number of fighters was increased further to 16 due to multiple ties, downplaying the celebration somewhat.
• Post-Release Retitle: According to an update from the Kickstarter campaign, the title was changed from -Hypno- to -Hollow- for the rerelease due to negative connotations for the original (namely nonconsensual hypnosis-induced intimacy) that would make it difficult to market the game overseas.
• What Could Have Been:
  • For most of the campaign for the -Hollow- re-release, individual high-paying backers decided not only which characters would receive additional attention, but also what their new scenes would entail. However, the final two "Main Character" scenes (Tsubaki's only, and Anora's second), as well as the scenes for three "Side Characters" (Kaya, Nazuna, and Dorothy), were instead decided by a vote amongst the high-paying backers, with summaries of over 50 potential scenes made available to the public via a link in a Kickstarter post; these included Anora becoming a Cat Girl by fusing with her familiar Envy, Tsubaki being used as the "plate" for Body Sushi, and Kaya engaging in Intimate Healing with Shinra while Leon is merely The Peeping Tom.
  • All of the Guests from other Venus Blood games were decided by vote; only 16 made it in, but 29 of the most-popular options were all made public in this Kickstarter update; the units that didn't make the cut include Rigret and Odin from Venus Blood -Frontier-, Carmilla and Belios from Venus Blood -Gaia-, Brigitte and Midir from VenusBlood -Chimera-, and Zirnitra from VenusBlood -Empire-, resulting in the latter two games having zero representation in the end.
