- The Cast Showoff: Maria's Japanese VA, Masako Katsuki is a singer. She sings the show's insert songs like "Carefree Monday" and "Mountain Feast".
- Completely Different Title: The anime is also known as "Lahn Al Hayah" (Middle East), "Les enfants du Capitaine Trapp" (France), "Die singende Familie Trapp" (Germany / Austria), "Cantiamo Insieme" (Italy), "Si Maria at Pamilya von Trapp" / "Trapp Family Singers" (Philippines), "Rodzina Trappów" (Poland), "A Família Trapp" (Portugal), "Sonrisas y Lágrimas" (European Spanish) and "La Novicia Rebelde" (Latin American Spanish). The latter two titles were also what The Sound of Music was called when the film was exported to those regions.
- Cross-Dressing Voices: Rupert is played by Shinobu Adachi, while Werner is voiced by Youko Matsuoka. Both of the voice actors are women.
- Averted in the Latin-American dub with Rupert (Luis Alfonso Mendoza) but played straight with Werner (Elsa Covián)
- What Could Have Been: The early concept and promo art found in some of the show's merchandise are different compare to the results:
- Maria's everyday dress was suppose to be red but later turned into brown in the show.
- The hair colors of some von Trapp children were different. Johanna and Martina's hair was suppose to be blonde but it later changed to brown.
- The von Trapps was suppose to have a small, white dog in the show but it was later omitted.
