• Dueling Works: David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson both felt part of the reason the movie flopped was because it came out the weekend after The Dark Knight. To quote Duchovny: "The only worse thing would've been coming out the same weekend as The Dark Knight."
• Franchise Killer: The movie is suspected of being one for the once ultra-famous The X-Files, although after a six year gap it could be considered more of a failed attempt at resurrection. The franchise wouldn't return again for another eight years.
• Foiler Footage: During production, several fake screenshots of the movie were released (including a picture of a werewolf) to throw people off.
• Playing Against Type: Comedian Billy Connolly plays Pedophile Priest Father Joe.
• Rearrange the Song: Possibly the most popular part of the film with fans was the Mark Snow/UNKLE remix of the theme song, which re-imagined it as a piece for cello.
