Trivia / The Boss Baby: Back in Business

  • Adored by the Network: In a report breaking down the downsizing of Netflix's in-house animation branch, canceling projects in the process, the company's staff reportedly praised this series as the "ideal" for what an animated show on Netflix should achieve in terms of viewership numbers. This is in spite of the show being a third-party acquisition from DreamWorks Animation. Writer Brandon Sawyer even cited that, due to the original deal with Dreamworks, Netflix had a hands-off approach in the series' development.
  • Breaking News Interruption: An NHK E-Tele airing of the episode "Monster Machine" on May 1, 2021 was interrupted by a breaking news bulletin about an earthquake in Miyagi prefecture.
  • Casting Gag: In the Japanese dub, Bootsy Calico is voiced by Mitsuru Miyamoto, who already voiced an ever bigger cat.
  • The Other Darrin:
    • None of the voice actors from the movie sans Eric Bell Jr. Not even Miles Bakshi returned as he went through puberty during the film's production.
    • The same goes in the Japanese dub, excluding Tim's parents (Yuko Sasaki and Takeharu Ohnishi, both reprising their roles from the home video version of the film).
    • On the other hand, this is averted in the Latin American Spanish dub, when almost the entire cast is kept, with Staci being the only exception, who was voiced by Nicole Florencia in the movie, but in the TV series, she is voiced by Annie Rojas instead. Zigzagged with Tim, who was initially reprised by David Reyes for the first ten episodes, but as his voice was changing due to him reaching puberty, he was replaced by Sergio Maya for the rest of the series.
    • In the Croatian dub Robert Urgina replaces Luka Peroš as The Boss Baby altough Ronald Žlabur and Mila Elegović return as Tim Sr. and Janice.
  • Playing Against Type: Sort of, but in the Japanese dub, Mega Fat CEO Baby is voiced by Naoya Uchida, a voice actor normally typecast into voicing creepy villains, anti-heroes, or middle-aged or old men. Voicing a baby is very out of his normal modus operandi.
  • Role Reprise: Eric Bell Jr. reprises his role as the triplets for this series.
  • Voices in One Room: As evidenced by this tweet from Kari Wahlgren, the main cast records together.
