• Franchise Killer: Terra Battle 2 was quite hyped up as not many gacha-style games tend to get sequels, and it's lead character Sarah gaining a decent fan following during the hype cycle. When the game launched, it was a bug-ridden mess that often would crash, with the developers constantly apologizing and patching the game over the first several months. On top of the poor reception of the new mechanics being either bloated or confusing, Terra Battle 2 would die a slow, painful death and shut down after only one year. The poor reception of 2 affected both the original game and Terra Wars, the latter launching in 2019 to no fanfare and getting shut down just only six months after launch. The first Terra Battle was pulled from European stores and shut down, while the remaining Asian and North American territories received one final update that allowed players to play the game offline, with Mistwalker discontinuing support for the title after five years and moved on to other projects. The game itself was shut down in 2020, likely due to the bad poor reception of 2 and Terra Wars.

  • Europe never got an official release of Terra Battle 2 and because of the worldwide shutdown of the servers, they never will. As of October 31, 2018, the European servers for Terra Battle has closed making it available only in Asian and North American regions.
• Terra Battle is notably one of the few "free-to-play" Japanese mobile games in which updates are synced across all available regions.
