- Ascended Fanon: The game incorporates the popular "Narrator Chara" fan theory from Undertale, which argues that Chara provides the flavor text and checks you see in all routes of Undertale, and not just the creepy statements in red text seen in the Genocide route as was previously believed. In TS!Underswap, Chara continues providing the narration in all routes even with the role swap with Frisk (likely because very little information is given for Frisk's "canon" personality in Undertale and Team Switched tries to stay true to the characters' personalities from the source game).
- Fandom Nod: Chara starts off with a Chocolate Bar as the only healing item in their inventory, and gives loving descriptions when checking and eating it. Undertale fanon has Chara obsessed with chocolate because they single out the lack of chocolate in Asgore's fridge in the Genocide route.
- In Memoriam: The end credits of the demo include a tribute to Offtopic, a late friend of Team Switched. They requested
that people making a Let's Play of the game show the credits in full, in part to honor Offtopic's memory.
