Trivia / Sol Cresta

Go To

  • Acting for Two: Masaaki Mizunaka voices Sho Tendo and his late father, Noboru. He also voices the Mega Zofer commanders.
  • B-Team Sequel: The first two Cresta games are developed and published by Nichibutsu. This one is developed and published by Platinum Games.
  • Promoted Fanboy: Hideki Kamiya, the creative director, is a big fan of Moon Cresta and Terra Cresta himself.
  • Release Date Change: The game was originally scheduled for a December 9th, 2021 release. It was then set for release on February 22nd, 2022 due to polishes.
  • Schedule Slip: A trailer for this game pranked viewers by setting a 2022 release date before the ship flies in and shoots it back to 2021. The game was later delayed to a then-unknown date. It also happened again with a stream debating on the release date set for January 7th, but even said stream was postponed due to technical difficulties. It was then set for a February 22nd release.
  • Sequel Gap: Sol Cresta (2022) is the first game in the franchise in 25 years since Terra Cresta 3D (1997). If the Terra sequels don't count, then it's still a long time since Terra Cresta (1985), with a 37 year gap in between.
  • What Could Have Been: Dril was originally envisioned as a slim, cynical mechanic, but would have made all three main characters too similar and lose balance, so he ended up with a round and cute design.
