Trivia / Robin Hood (1991)

• Box Office Bomb: Budget: £8.1 million (US$15 million). Box office in the UK: £387,139.
• Channel Hop: Originally intended for a theatrical release in the US and South America, the film was premiered on the Fox network in those territories a month before the release of Prince of Thieves instead. It was released in cinemas in several countries throughout the world, however.
• Dawson Casting: Fifty-four-year-old Edward Fox as Prince John during the Saxon-Norman conflict, as envisioned by Walter Scott, meaning John had to be twenty-eight at the oldest.
• Dueling Movies: It was released in 1991 just like Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. Prince of Thieves vastly overshadows the John Irvin film to this day, but it's better regarded by some.
• Fake Nationality: Irish Patrick Bergin as the English folk hero; Uma Thurman as Maid Marian.
