  • Colbert Bump: A rather special case. Ukraine's culture has gained tremendous amounts of visibility worldwide due to the widely condemned mass scale military invasion by Russia that started in February 2022 and has made the news ever since, and due to a subsequent push by FILM UA Group including at events like the Cannes Film Festival, theater chains from a number of countries that never imported much media from Ukraine prior to it (including Animagrad's previous film The Stolen Princess) have released the film as a result. It got released in 80 countries eventually, which is an all-time record for a Ukrainian film.
  • Completely Different Title: The film is called Le royaume de Naya in French (The Kingdom of Naya), using the Dub Name Change from Mavka to "Naya".
  • Non-Singing Voice: In the original version, Nataliya Denisenko voiced Mavka and Khrystyna Soloviy did Mavka's singing voice.
  • Referenced by...: The episode "The Welcome Badge" of the British preschool show Hey Duggee is dedicated to Ukraine and features the film's characters.
  • Release Date Change: The film was initially scheduled for release in 2020, but delays due to graphic overhaul, the COVID-19 Pandemic and then Russia's mass scale invasion of Ukraine pushed its release to 2023.
  • Troubled Production: The development started in 2015 and several graphic overhauls happened (Mavka's early design was completely scrapped and a new one was made). The COVID-19 pandemic then the mass scale Russian invasion also slowed down the film's final production stages by several months.
