Trivia / (Mario) The Music Box

Go To

  • Acting for Two: Slick Frame James voices Mario, Marchionne, and Riba.
  • Approval of God: CorpseSyndrome frequently retweets fanart drawn of the game.
  • Creator Couple: CorpseSyndrome and their wife ogniK are the leaders of Team Ari.
  • Colbert Bump: The game got a small boost in popularity after former Vinesauce member GeePM did a couple streams of it, during one of which the game's creators even visited the chat.
  • Cross-Dressing Voices: CorpseSyndrome, a nonbinary person, provided voice samples for Alice.
  • Playing Against Type: Slick Frame James' most famous work is a rather lighthearted piece of animation, and the humor present in the series is PG-13 at best. In an official interview done on Hazah Gaming's YouTube channel, James mentions that (Mario) The Music Box is his first time doing something horror-related.
  • Real Life Writes the Plot: Back in early development of the game, CorpseSyndrome was going through some therapy and battled their own inner demons; this is where the vast majority of the elements and themes in the game stem from, which means she used the game as it's vessel of Coping Mechanism at the time. Once life got much better for them, production of the game came to a stop. It was through encouragement of new friends and their wife that they finally finished the game and released it to the public.
  • Series Hiatus: On April 9, 2022, CorpseSyndrome had put development on the "Delirium" update for ARC on hold for over a week in order to take care over their sick daughter, Naomi.
  • The Other Darrin: Rosie Sapphire was the first voice of Riba, but she quit the role after coming out as transgender. Slick Frame James would eventually take over the role starting with the "Delirium" update for ARC.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • In the Original: We've seen the proposed screenshot and it shows us that Mario could go to the courtyard, Luigi could go to the library, and Riba could go to the basement. An incomplete map in CorpseSyndrome's gallery shows us that the basement, parlour, and dining room were past the F1 rooms locked doors, and it was said in-game that the areas would become accessible in future updates. Though the game is complete enough to be considered a full game, these areas are incomplete.
    • In the ARC: In one of the insane endings Riba's Betrayal. was planed to be playable. As Mario suffers an amnesia and the player can either help him recover his memories, or face the fate of being killed. Mario also meets Riba's Sister, who was part of the group, she warns Mario of the group's intentions, and once Mario recovers his memories, he will try to flee from their captors, but gets shot down with an arrow during his escape, and he dies. Soon then after, Riba's Sister is also gets killed along with Mario, for informing him of his amnesia.
  • Word of Gay: In a twitter post for Pride Month 2021, CorpseSyndrome stated that both Mario and Riba are bisexual.
