  • Actor-Shared Background: Zeeko Zaki and OA are both raised in New York and they are fluent in Arabic and English. Zaki mentioned that Dick Wolf encouraged him to speak to the production crew about developing OA's background after he was casted as a Muslim-American FBI agent.
  • Awesome, Dear Boy: Zeeko Zaki jumped at the chance to do the show. In a Time opinion piece, he said that being cast was his way to contribute against stereotyping that all Muslims (regardless if they're from places that have a Muslim majority or not) are bad people.
  • Distanced from Current Events: The season 4 finale scheduled for May 24, 2022 was pulled by CBS because of the Uvalde, Texas school shooting that happened earlier that day. The synopsis of the postponed episode: "As the team investigates a deadly robbery that garnered a cache of automatic weapons for the killers, they discover one of the perps is a classmate of Jubal's son, who is reluctant to cooperate with the case." CBS replaced it with a rerun of an FBI episode from earlier in the season. While it's officially supposed to be rescheduled for a later date, the original episode was briefly on Amazon Prime before being removed and can be easily found online through unofficial means.
    • CBS finally broadcast the episode on October 4, 2022, during Season 5.
  • Fake American: Missy Peregrym (Canadian) as Maggie Bell.
  • Hide Your Pregnancy: Happens to Missy Peregrym in season 2 and again in season 4. Luckily for her, her partner is the 6'5" OA so the camera is always up higher to fit him into the frame.
  • Renewed Before Premiere: Near the end of the sixth season, it was renewed for three more, guaranteeing it will run at least until 2027.
  • Production Posse: Both Jeremy Sisto and Alana de la Garza were in another Dick Wolf creation, the original Law & Order.
  • You Look Familiar: The above mentioned Sisto and De La Garza play Jubal and Isobel respectively in this series. As detailed on the main page, the show is set in the same universe as Chicago P.D., which is in the same universe as Law & Order, where the two played Detective Cyrus Lupo and ADA Connie Rubirosa respectively during the show's final few seasons.
    • Zeeko Zaki and Edwin Hodge worked with each other on the first season of Six, where Hodge played a Navy SEAL while Zaki played a former Spetsnaz operative turned terrorist. The pair get partnered up in the 2023 cross-over episode.
  • What Could Have Been: OA was suppose to be someone who's a Hispanic-American FBI agent. Wolf decided against it after Zaki was casted as OA.
