- Deleted Scene: The Landlord explains to the Doctor how he learned that the Dryads needed feeding periodically, and appeals to the Doctor to understand his actions. The Doctor says that he understands the desperate desire to save a loved one at any cost, but doesn't condone acting on it.The Doctor: I would tear the sky apart, I would reduce the solar system to the tiniest cinder, for anyone I love. But if I was about to do that, if I got to that point of desperation, I would have one hope, one desire.
The Landlord: [hopefully] Yes?
The Doctor: That someone would stop me. - Recycled Set: The house is the Fields House in Newport, which also appeared in "Blink" and "Last Christmas" , plus episodes of Sherlock, CASUAL+Y and other series.
- What Could Have Been:
- A reference to Harry's other grandfather (not the one who was arrested in China) being the Fourth Doctor's companion Harry Sullivan was cut from the episode.
- In an alternate ending that got as far as being filmed before it was abandoned, the house remains standing and the Doctor breaks out his legal-document-altering skills again to put the title deed in his own name so Bill and her friends can continue living there.
- Working Title: "The Haunted Hub".
