The Video Game

  • Late Export for You: During 39 years, the game was not released in North America, what with it being made when NOA still had a very strict policy of censorship of religious themes and imagery (it did see release in Europe). Even with the various Virtual Console re-releases the game had been getting, it didn't receive a North American release. It was finally brought to the region in late October 2023 alongside other spook-themed classic games to celebrate that year's Halloween.
  • Marth Debuted in "Smash Bros.": An example that shares space with the trope namer. For the longest time, the only exposure to this franchise in North America was the Smash Bros. franchise (and blink-and-you-miss-it cameos in titles like Tetris DS and Art Style: Pictobits), where Tamagon appeared in Melee as a trophy (albeit Dummied Out from the American version, but accessible with a cheat device), and then the title Devil's cameo from Brawl onwards as an Assist Trophy.
  • Meaningful Release Date: This game was added to Nintendo Switch Online on Halloween, alongside The Mysterious Murasame Castle and Castlevania Legends.
