• Banned in China: The BBC cut the scene in which Buffy decapitates a vampire with a drum cymbal.
• Completely Different Title:

  • Brazilian Portuguese: "Bem-vindo à Boca do Inferno, Parte 2" (Welcome to the Hellmouth, Part 2)
  • Finnish: "Ystäviä ja paholaisia, osa 2" (Friends and demons, part 2)
  • German: "Die Zeit der Ernte" (Time of the Harvest)
• Creator Backlash: Joss Whedon was sufficiently embarrassed about the way the scene in which Luke kneels before the Master was shot (making it look as though Luke was giving the Master ‘pleasure’) to apologise for it in his DVD Commentary.
• First Appearance: Of Harmony Kendall.
• What Could Have Been:
  • Darla was originally supposed to be killed when Willow hurled holy water on her, but a more interesting plot for "Angel" was needed so they kept her in the show.
  • To make Jesse's transformation and death in this episode more of a surprise, Joss originally planned to have Eric Balfour appear in the opening credits. The channel couldn't afford to create two different credits sequences, so the idea was scrapped. He revisited this idea with Tara once he was on a channel that could afford it, making her a main character in the same episode in which she dies.
