  • In Spanish, the film is known as Deseo de una mañana de verano ("A Summer Morning's Desire") in both Spain and Latin America, which makes one wonder if it was an intentional Shout-Out to A Midsummer Night's Dream.
  • In Portuguese, the film is known as História de um Fotógrafo ("Story of a Photographer") in Portugal and Depois Daquele Beijo ("After That Kiss") in Brazil.
• Star-Making Role: For David Hemmings.
• What Could Have Been:
  • Michelangelo Antonioni's original choice for the rock band was The Velvet Underground but there were problems over their work permits at the time. He also tried to get The Who in the film.
  • Terence Stamp was originally cast as Thomas, but was dropped two weeks before shooting began in favor of the then-unknown actor David Hemmings. Sean Connery was offered the role but he didn't see any sense in the script.
