Trivia / Balloon Fight

  • The game got much more popular after elements of it (i.e. flippers, a trophy and the theme music) were included in Super Smash Bros. Melee. At one point, Balloon Fighter was even a candidate for a playable character in it!
  • Being included as a bonus game in the first Animal Crossing and WarioWare games may have contributed to it becoming more popular as well.
• Referenced by...: The Super Mario Bros. Movie; a sign for a car wash has the Balloon Fight kid on it.
• Spiritual Successor: to Joust. It was future Nintendo president Satoru Iwata's first produced game. Furthermore, Iwata would later produce a NES port of Joust itself at HAL Labs.
