Spoilers Off applies to the Moments subpages. All spoilers are unmarked.

  • After singing a happy song about how much in love she is, Marianne finds her fiancé cheating on her right before her wedding. She's a happy, Wide-Eyed Idealist princess who lives in a kingdom of fairies. She's probably never really suffered. So the look on her face is of someone whose whole world has been shattered.
  • The Bog King's face at re-watching the girl he loved scream in fear/disgust and running away. He's utterly crushed, and admits that he thinks he's so ugly that nothing can cause anyone to love him.
    • It's only made worse by how he begs the Sugarplum Fairy to stop.
  • Even though its an obvious Disney Death, Griselda's devastated reaction comes across as surprisingly effective.
    Griselda: My son.
  • The Bog King and Marianne have just spent an entire song ("Strange Magic") bonding, falling more in love with each other, and finally having some kind of renewed hope in love. Then Bog sees the Fairy Army, and thinks Marianne has played him; she doesn't catch on until she sees the army, and tries to explain it's not what it looks like. To reiterate, just moments ago, these two were finding love in one another...only for it to be taken away.
  • While not an outright tearjerker, the Fairy King (Marianne and Dawn's father) wants Roland and Marianne to be an item, unaware that Roland publicly cheated on his daughter on their wedding day. Whether or not the king knows about the cheating, it's pretty depressing from Marianne's perspective, even if the moment was portrayed as humorous. note
    • And it's possibly not the first time he's tried this. Without knowing any context of why his daughter called off the wedding, the Fairy King keeps trying to ship the two because he thinks Marianne inexplicably decided she'd rather be a bachelorette the rest of her life. ...But that's not what he wants. He doesn't want his daughter to live out the rest of her days alone. He just wants what's best for Marianne, if only he knew the fault lied with Roland.
  • Watching all the Love Potion victims being locked up in cages in the Bog King's castle, apart from the ones they love. When Marianne is taken to see Dawn, they're all singing "Can't Help Falling In Love" in the most sad, sorrowful voices, while many look like they're about to cry as they're desperately trying to reach each other to hold hands.
