- The first half of the movie really tugs at the heart... Despite Ōarai having won the tournament, as was part of the agreement, the higher-ups decide to shut it down anyway and sell the schoolship carrier for scrap. As such, the first half of the movie is of the Ōarai girls trying to readjust to their lives off the carrier.
- The Sodoko Collective are so depressed they turn into delinquents. Mako has to pull them out of bed.
- While Anzu is away negotiating to save the school, Momo is doing her best to keep things tied together at the temporary school. Momo does an admirable job keeping it together until Anzu returns, taking back responsibility for running things. Finally relieved of the responsibility of leading the students, Momo is able to let out her feelings, bawling her eyes out. It lasts long enough into the next scene to become a funny moment as well, but shows just how much emotional turmoil Momo was suffering under the circumstances.
- We see a short, silent montage of Miho and Maho's younger days... Back when things were so much happier between them, and neither were burdened by their mother's Second Place Is for Losers philosophy.
- And when Miho has to return home to get her transfer paper signed, she doubts if she's even allowed there. Maho can't even tell their own mother that Miho is home. It really says something that Maho preferred forging her mom's signature rather than informing her of it.
- Clara deciding to act as a bait to delay the University Team's Pershings from pursuing Katyusha and Company Sunflower is quite dramatic and tearjerking as well. It gets even more dramatic as the members of the KV 2 and Nonna decide to do the same thing. Katyusha has to reluctantly fall back after Nonna states that she's an important asset to the high school team and must not get eliminated that early, hence why they are staying behind to secure her escape.Clara: (in fluent Japanese) Katyusha-sama, it has been an honor to have fought alongside you...
