• Hussie gave Bro and Dirk Strider pointy anime shades without knowing too much about Kamina, but fans immediately made the connection to another badass 'bro' figure with the style. Dirk takes things full circle and wears a recolored version of Kamina's outfit.

• Dirk STILL owns his favorite book, Pony Pal.

• Chapter 1 is titled Ghostflusters

• Harry Anderson's ringtone is a song from the original 1981 Cats musical itself called "Prologue: Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats" by the original London cast. This is an obvious reference to his love of theater and his affinity for classic Earth productions. Not only that though, but he has a poster of the 2019 Cats movie in his room, hidden underneath several other poster, such as an Pokemon: The First Movie poster.

• Harry Anderson Egbert's, was based off none other than, Harry Anderson. Yiffany Longstocking Lalonde Harley also, was based off the titular character from Pippi Longstocking

• Kanaya talking about " A Wriggler Story About A Young Prince And The Beloved Flower He Loved And Lost" is a subtle reference to The Little Prince

• Jade Harley's outfit in the first couple chapters was reminiscent of Lea Jaffe from DazeyandtheScouts . Despite receiving a redesign as of recent, Jade has been drawn by one of the artists of beyond canon, with Jade playing the band's hit song Wet. Oh, oh-oh-oh-oh.

• Commander Candy Karkat always looked very reminiscent to Big Boss, up until the 5/8/24 update in which he makes a direct reference to his famous quote, "KEPT YOU WAITING, HUH?".

• Chapter 15 begins with a parody of the Futurama intro, with its take on the Couch Gag saying "Now Demi-Bi-Monthly".

• The big returning update after years of radio silence, opened with a reference to Law and Order. Also in this update includes a huge homage to Ace Attorney.

• Sollux is being seen playing both Donkey Kong Country and Sonic the Hedgehog CD

• "Do the teens still know Yamcha pose?" - James

• The entire update of the Serket Sisters is a big reference to the first MSPA, Jailbreak.
