Bohman boasts that he has obtained a power that transcends human intellect itself and allows him to manipulate luck. Empowered by their bonds, Soulburner and Flame drive Bohman into a corner with their Salamangreat monsters. However, something abnormal then happens to Flame...
This episode contains the following tropes:
- All for Nothing: Flame's sacrifice to keep Soulburner in the Duel ultimately amounts to the latter getting beaten and absorbed by Bohman, despite his best efforts.
- A Taste of Defeat: Soulburner suffers his first, and only, defeat at Bohman's hands, fully showcasing the very serious threat Bohman now poses.
- Chest Burster: Windy's body bursts out of Flame's chest while still being attached to him.
- Fighting from the Inside: The real reason Flame began flickering since Bohman brought out "Paradox Hydradrive Atlas"? Windy has been fighting Flame from the inside; the former wasn't lying when he claimed that he'll linger on as a curse when Flame offered to preserve his data after losing to Soulburner.
- Morton's Fork: Regardless of which set card Soulburner chooses to return to Bohman's deck, the cards Bohman set ensured things play out in his favour, forcing "Card of Pandora" to be targeted even if the other card (i.e. "Dice Logic") was targeted instead.
- Pet the Dog:
- Bohman attempts to dissuade Windy from mutilating Flame in the middle of the Duel, but Windy, who doesn't tolerate being ordered around, quickly silences him.
- Bohman proposes ending the Duel after Flame is terminated from resisting Windy. Soulburner rejects, however, and continues the Duel to the very end.
- Say My Name: Soulburner helplessly screams Flame's name after he is terminated.
- Sorry That I'm Dying: Soulburner apologizes to Flame for failing to keep their promise with each other and leaves it up to Playmaker to defeat the remaining members of the Ignis faction, before he disintegrates and gets absorbed by Bohman.
- Taking You with Me: Flame manages to reabsorb Windy and stop Soulburner from being... whatever it is Windy tried to do to him. This takes a toll on Flame, however, and he terminates shortly afterwards, to Soulburner's devastation.
- Took a Level in Badass: Subverted. Soulburner performs a Super Reincarnation Link Summon, and appears as if he'll get the upper hand against his opponent... except "Pyro Phoenix" fails to destroy "Paradox Hydradrive Atlas" due to its own effect, and said "Hydradrive" monster ultimately becomes Soulburner's own undoing due to Bohman's hand trap strategies.
- Trailers Always Spoil: Prior to its air date, the premise of the episode outlines that something abnormal happens to Flame. No bonus points for guessing what happens if you take a look at the cast list, which lists Windy.
