Go To

Yuya's battle with The Sledgehammer continues with the new mysterious Pendulum Cards that have appeared in his deck. Surprisingly to everyone, there's no error in the system, despite these cards coming from nowhere, so the duel is allowed to proceed. To everyone's shock, Yuya actually beats Strong, stunning the world.

Yuya becomes the talk of the town and kids flock to the You Show Duel School to sign up and see the mysterious Pendulum cards again. Yuya battles Zuzu in an exhibition match, but because he doesn't fully understand the new Pendulum card yet, he botches his summon and loses. The kids leave, presuming Yuya is a hack and a cheater, but one kid, Tate, stays and signs up as a new student.

Meanwhile, a mysterious figure at the Leo Corporation watches the duel and takes an interest in Yuya and his new cards.

  • Establishing Series Moment: For the show as a whole. By having the fans assume that Yuya is cheating, it shows ARC-V is more grounded in reality than previous Yu-Gi-Oh! shows.
  • Heroic BSoD: Yuya falls into one when all his fans call him a cheat, he gets out of it when Tatsuya says he believes in him.
  • How Is That Even Possible?: Yuya himself has no idea how he won, and is shocked to see that he did so.
  • Lighter and Softer: There's a lot of hilarious scenes in this episode.
  • No-Sell: All of Strong's attempts to negate Yuya's Odd Eyes Pendulum Dragon's attack.
  • Mistaken for Cheating: God Cards, Sacred Beasts, Signer Dragons and Numbers; not a problem whatsoever. The first guess of many fans upon seeing Yuya pull a new type of summoning monster out of nowhere? Assume he cheated.
  • The Day the Music Lied: In his duel with Yuzu the Pendulum Leitmotif starts, but here, does not finish, as Yuya can't complete it right.
  • Undying Loyalty: Tatsuya joins the school as he fully believes Yuya didn't cheat.
  • Wrong Genre Savvy: Yuya thought he could only perform a Pendulum Summon if he's about to lose, and lets Yuzu attack him presuming the summon will trigger and save him. It doesn't work that way, but one can hardly blame him since that usually is how it works with this franchise.
