Peter Sam is now single-handedly running the Skarloey Railway and is happy with his new position, but when he is late one day, Henry threatens to leave without Peter Sam's passengers next time. Peter Sam is worried and hurries as much as he can, but becomes impatient when he has to wait at the lake for an hour and leaves without a very important passenger: the Refreshment Lady. Peter Sam gives the Refreshment Lady an explanation, but the Refreshment Lady informs him that Henry was joking. Peter Sam is furious, but Henry had disappeared.

Tropes featured in the episode:

  • Adaptational Nationality: The refreshment lady in the US dub. Michael Angelis speaks in a normal voice when reading her lines, but George Carlin gives her a stereotypical Italian accent.
  • Downer Ending: Peter Sam is left angry after Henry's trick.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: For a split second, Henry has Gordon's face.
  • I Was Just Joking: Peter Sam believed about Henry planning to leave without his passenger if he's late again just until the Refreshment Lady explained that Henry was joking.
  • Jerkass: Henry makes a mean joke about him leaving Peter Sam's passengers behind the next time he's late and is likely to get away with it.
  • Stock Footage: Footage from "A Bad Day for Sir Handel" is used in the first few seconds of the series to recap Sir Handel's misbehaviour.
  • Tsundere / Mood-Swinger: The refreshment lady at the end of the episode. At first angrily scolding Peter Sam for leaving her behind, then bursting into laughter when Peter Sam explained that Henry threatened to leave without his passengers.
  • Workaholic: Peter Sam revels in running the line singlehanded, to the point that Sir Handel grumbles "Anyone would think he wanted to work!".
