Long ago, King Aldrich of Amphibia's plan to invade the Demon Realm doesn't go as intended, resulting in an outcome that no one could have anticipated.
- Action Prologue: This opening chapter of the story begins in the middle of the Newtopian invasion of the Demon Realm.
- Adaptational Early Appearance: In canon, the Core first appeared as a cameo in Season 2, while King Aldrich didn't appear until Season 3. Here, both appear right in the first chapter.
- Alien Sky: As a result of the worlds being merged, the reality has both world's moons.
- Big Badass Battle Sequence: The story opens with one of these between the Demon Realm and the invading forces of Amphibia.
- Child of Two Worlds: The Newtopian general Gradina decides to adopt a newly orphaned witch baby that she finds on the battlefield. King Aldrich, with encouragement from the Core, allows her to do this so that they can study the witches' magical capabilities.
- Didn't See That Coming: Despite the Newtopians' advanced technology, they didn't anticipate the forces of the Demon Realm putting up such a strong defense. As such, they were in the process of a tactical retreat when the two worlds were merged together.
- Distant Prologue: The chapter takes place over 1,000 years ago when Andrias's father Aldrich was still the king.
- The Magic Versus Technology War: Amphibia's invasion of the Demon Realm is basically this, pitting the Newts' high-tech against the witches' magic.
- Merged Reality: As a result of the Titan's spirit intervening while Newtopia's forces are retreating and attacking the Calamity Box, mixing their energies, Amphibia and the Demon Realm are merged into a Patchwork World.
- Original Character: This chapter introduces Gradina, a Newt general who is the mother of Barrel, and Yensid, the commander of the Demon Realm's forces during the invasion.
- Pragmatic Villainy: Aldrich initially thinks of getting rid of the baby from the Demon Realm, but changes his mind and has Gradina keep the baby under the pretense of using her to study how that world's magic works.
- Shout-Out:
- The opening sequence is pretty much the sacking of Britannia.
- The lead witch is named Yensid.
