While Shining Armor and Azmuth are off-world, Tirek attempts to reclaim his hybrids by sending drones to invade Plumber Base.
- All Your Base Are Belong to Us: Tirek uses some robots to sabotage the systems in the Plumber Base and allow his drone to invade and try to steal back the hybrids. Fortunately though, the attempt is thwarted by Flash and his friends.
- Combining Mecha: The five drones combine together in the climax, with the red one forming the torso and waist, the blue and green ones forming the legs and feet, and yellow and pink ones becoming the arms and hands.
- Crazy-Prepared: Shining Armor had Flash memorize all the codes to the base in case of an emergency, which ends up being useful when Twilight and Cadance get the base's power restored and Flash issues a code that has security blast the drones to scrap metal.
- Explain, Explain... Oh, Crap!: When Flash and the others see the red drone is still functioning after Flash said he already destroyed it, they realize that it must have fixed itself, before slowly realizing that if it has that ability the other four must have it as well, right before the other four drones all arrive as well.
- Healing Factor: The drones all have a self-repair function, allowing them to regenerate after being seemingly destroyed. It takes the base's security coming back online and opening fire with deadly force to put them down for good.
- I Can Explain: When Twilight, Flash, and Adagio see Shining Armor is back at the end and he sees the mess still being fixed, Twilight just assures him "We can explain".
- No-Sell: The drones can see through Trixie's illusions, possibly because they can see heat sources.
- Oh, Crap!: When Flash transforms into Yak-Smasher, the giant drone glances between him and Charger, not being sure which one it is supposed to capture.
- Tempting Fate: Flash assures Shining that the base won't have a scratch on it when he gets back, only for a giant battle to break out later that night and the repairs still being made once he gets back several days later.
