Flash Sentry, tired of feeling overshadowed by The Rainbooms whenever he tries to help someone, has his whole life changed forever one night when a pod crashes down from space. Inside is a device that looks like a simple watch, the Omnitrix, until it latches itself onto Flash's wrist.
- Attack Reflector: Just like in canon, Diamondhead defeats the mantis-like drone by using his crystal body to reflect its laser right back at it.Diamondhead: What comes around goes around! Let's see how you like it, you rusty bucket of bolts!
- Clingy MacGuffin: The Omnitrix attaches itself to Flash when he gets too close to it, and he quickly finds out he can't take it off. At least not without removing his arm in the process.
- Dark Lord on Life Support: This happens to Vilgax in the beginning, with the battle over the Omnitrix in space almost costing him his life and forcing him to be put in a healing tank.
- In Spite of a Nail: Despite events taking place in the Equestria Girls world instead of the Ben 10 world, a few things remain unchanged.
- Vilgax still becomes a Dark Lord on Life Support in the beginning and is forced to remain in a healing pod for the foreseeable future.
- Flash uses Diamondhead to defeat Vilgax's drone, and XLR8 is the last alien he uses for the chapter.
- Laser-Guided Karma: Rainbow acts as a Smug Super and talks down to Flash trying to help, saying he should leave heroics to the ones with superpowers. Later that night, she and her friends prove to be no match against Vilgax's drone, with Rainbow getting her leg broken in the process, and require Flash to save them as Diamondhead.
- Last-Second Word Swap: Trixie almost blows Flash's Secret Identity after he defeats Vilgax's drone, before she manages to catch herself.Trixie: Way to go Fla...ashy...diamond...headed guy.
- Mundane Utility: Flash uses XLR8 to get to school quickly and do all his homework in just a few seconds.
- Power Incontinence: When Flash transforms into Volt-Edge for the first time, he has a hard time controlling his new body. When he reaches out to Trixie, he accidentally shoots electricity at her.
- Secret-Keeper: Trixie becomes this for Flash, since she was with him when he found the Omnitrix and saw him transform for the first time.
