This review contains examples of...

  • Call-Back:
    • A variant of Big-Lipped Alligator Moment (first used in the Fern Gully review) is used: "Big Lipped Starving Children Moment", referencing that The Critic proves what a waste of money this film was by showing images of starving children during an elaborate song-and-dance number.
    • When the Rippers are revealed to be mutant kangaroos, the Critic (jokingly) mistakes them for the Warriors of Virtue, whose movie he just reviewed earlier in the year.
  • Mad Libs Catch Phrase: This is one of the episodes where the Critic uses his alternate "I'm the Nostalgia Critic, and..." closing line.
Critic: I'm the Nostalgia Critic, and if you'll excuse me, I think I have some money I want to donate to some starving kids.
  • Raging Stiffie: When Rebecca kisses Jet:
Critic: Okay, this movie went up a notch! Or, at least, something went up a notch.
  • Screams Like a Little Girl: The Critic's immediate reaction upon (jokingly) mistaking Lori Petty (Rebecca's actress) for Gwen Stefani.
  • Shout-Out: The Critic impersonates Dr. Claw and MAD Cat when the movie teases Kesslee's reconstructed appearance following the Rippers' earlier attack on him.
Critic: As you might have noticed, they're not showing McDowell's face — probably because they're building up the surgery that was done on him earlier. It's getting ridiculous, though. It's like he's turning into Dr. Claw. (as Dr. Claw) I'll get you next time, Tank Girl! Next time! (yowls like MAD Cat)
  • Subverted Catchphrase: At the beginning.
"Hello, I'm the Nostalgia Critic, and I remember it— *sobs* but I don't wanna~! I don't wanna remember it!"
