Recap / The New Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh S 3 E3b Tiggers Houseguest

Go To

Tigger befriends a bug that turns out to be a termite that is eating everything in the Hundred Acre Wood.

This episode contains examples of the following tropes.

  • The Atoner: The termite becomes this at the end of the episode.
  • But Now I Must Go: After repairing everything, the termite leaves without saying goodbye.
  • Extreme Omnivore: The termite devours anything that's wood in the blink of an eye.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: As soon as the termite eats the floorboards from under him, Rabbit quickly deduces that the termite is responsible for eating the wooden objects.
  • Here We Go Again!: To make up for the termite running off for good, Tigger scoops up some fleas and has an appropriate circus, who get all over the animals and make them itch like mad.
  • Must Make Amends: At the end of the episode after realizing he's caused nothing but trouble the Termite does his best to make up for what he did. But sadly despite fixing what he broke he still leaves Tigger at the end.
  • Not-So-Imaginary Friend: Pooh and Piglet mistakenly think that the termite is Tigger's imaginary friend until they see it for themselves near the climax.
  • Oh, Crap!:
    • Rabbit's initial reaction to seeing wooden things get eaten by the termite:
Rabbit: [seeing his scarecrow get eaten] Oh my! [seeing the fence get eaten] Oh my oh my!
    • Rabbit has another one when the termite eats the floorboards from under him while he's explaining about what's going on with the wooden objects.
    • Pooh, Rabbit and Piglet have the same reaction at the end of the episode when Tigger introduces them to his new bug friends.
    Pooh: Why, Tigger, aren't those—?
    Rabbit: Fleas?!
  • Termite Trouble: Tigger makes friends with a hungry termite that nearly eats his friends out of house and home. Although unlike most examples of this trope the Termite tries to fix what he broke at the end.
  • The Unreveal: We don't really get to see the termite up close.
