- Clamshells as Mouths: The clams that sing a line in the "Octopus's Garden" number do so by flapping their shells. They also have eyes inside the shells.

- Rump Roast: Due to the close proximity of the titular falling star, Wayne's pants are set on fire.Wayne: [singing as a star falls] Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket.
Save it for a rainy day.
[He puts the star in his pocket.]
Wayne: For love may come and tap you on the shoul...
[Scooter enters and taps Wayne on the shoulder.]
Scooter: Hey, your pants on fire!
Wayne: Uh, one starless...
[A pig dressed as a clown runs in and sprays Wayne with a seltzer bottle.]
Wayne: Uh, what are you doing? What are you...?
[Three Spanish dancers pass in front of him, singing. Wayne, meanwhile, begins to feel the star's heat.]
Wayne: Oooh, ow, ow! Ow, ow, ooh, ow! Ow, ow, ooh, ow...! [Runs offstage.] - Snakes Are Sinister: Subverted. When Robin expresses a fear of snakes, Kermit yelps in fright, then checks the room for snakes. Robin says this isn't helping, but then Kermit assures him that snakes can be beautiful. After a Fantasy Sequence of snakes dancing to "In a Persian Market", Robin sees his point, and a group of friendly snakes have joined them.Robin: You know, Uncle Kermit, snakes are really very nice.
[The camera zooms out to reveal snakes in the room.]
Snakes: [in unison] Thank you.
Kermit and Robin: [in unison] Uh... you're welcome. - Tall, Dark, and Handsome: The phrase is played with in the Medium Sketch when James sees Beauregard in his crystal ball.Fozzie: You see a tall, cute stranger?
James: Could be taller, could be cuter, but it couldn't be stranger.
- Waldorf: Well, shall we leave?
Statler: Why should we leave now? The worst part's over.
