- Actually Pretty Funny: Statler and Waldorf thought the Fractured Fairy Tale rendition of “The Grasshopper and the Ant” was hysterical. Too bad Sam didn’t agree with them.
- Anvil on Head: The Newsman reports on a weight being dropped from the ceiling. Guess where it lands.
- Clingy Jealous Girl: Miss Piggy is furious that Kermit has a duet with Miss Mousey.
- Fractured Fairy Tale: Sam is shocked when the version of the "Ant and the Grasshopper" he reads ends with the ant getting stepped on and the grasshopper driving off to Florida.
- Invisible Parents: When Robin protests against doing "I'm Five", Kermit threatens to call his father. That shuts Robin up real fast.
- Oh, Crap!: Beaker has this reaction when Bunsen announces that he is to drink the Bunsonium.
- The Runaway: Robin plans to run away because no one pays any attention to him. Bernadette talks him out of it.
- Running Gag: Statler and Waldorf's booth is visited a few times by members of the cast who weren't pleased with some of their comments. Lampshaded by Waldorf:Waldorf: Why are they picking on us tonight?
- Vaudeville Hook: Robin gets pulled offstage when he tries to sing "They Call The Wind Maria".
- Visual Pun: The liquid Bunsonium happens to be contained in a beaker, resulting in this line:Bunsen: Get the beaker, Beaker.
- Statler: Seriously, what'd you think of Miss Mousey?
Waldorf: I loved her.
Statler: Me too.
Miss Piggy: WHAT?!
