Recap / The Most Popular Girls In School S 04 E 01

Go To

After Mackenzie secretly betrays Brittnay to win over the hipsters, Brittnay goes on a rampage in revenge.

Tropes:

  • Alone with the Psycho: Trisha immediately gets scared when she realizes she's alone in a room with a very pissed off Brittnay and is worried for a moment Brittnay might actually kill her before Brittnay assures Trisha she would never hurt her.
  • Brick Joke: Deandra finally gets her pie after Mackenzie sends her yet another text.
  • Dramatic Irony: Mackenzie went through with her scheme to reclaim her spot as one of the most popular girls in school, only to find out a lot of people are deservedly pissed off at her bullshit and want nothing to do with her.
  • Hated by All: By the very start of this season, Mackenzie Zales has pretty much alienated most of the school due to her various Zany Schemes.
  • Karmic Protection: Brittnay makes it clear she would never do anything to hurt Trisha because Trisha's always been a good, loyal friend to her. Likewise, she has no desire to hurt Trisha 2 because she doesn't really know her well enough to judge her, but warns her since she's a bit annoying she's on thin ice.
  • Moral Event Horizon: In-Universe, Brittnay refers to Mackenzie as "the lowest form of life that exists on this planet" for blowing up her car.
  • Phoney Call: Trisha does Type B of this trope by pretending that she's actually talking with her mother as soon as Brittnay asks her if she's speaking to Mackenzie on the phone. Brittnay doesn't fall for it.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Deandra, Ashley, Judith, Rachel, and Jenna Dapananian all contribute to one aimed at Mackenzie when she hypocritical says they can't just go around destroying other people's property. At which point Deandra reminds Mackenzie how she lost her arms thanks to her, Ashley reminds Mackenzie how she destroyed her relationship with Justin, and Rachel points out how she destroyed the life of her friend Jenna Darabond. It ends with Jenna Dapananian saying none of them were responsible for trashing the lockers, but they're all sick of Mackenzie, capped off with Judith telling Mackenzie to go fuck herself.
  • Shout-Out: The title and one of the scenes are references to The Professional.
  • Title Drop:
    Mackenzie: Shay, bring me everyone.
Shay: What do you mean "everyone"-?
    Mackenzie: EVE! RY! ONE!
