Recap / The Interns S 4 E 3

Go To

Alisa has only one day until her exams, so she decides to spend the rest the of a day studying. When Gleb starts bothering her, she tells him that "real men" have their own house and source of income, while he lives with his mother. So, Gleb decided to lean some (not so small) money from Kisegach, so he can rent separate apartment for himself and Alisa. Meanwhile, Bykov meets his old friend from his biker days, Boar. Unfortunately, Bykov just doesn't know what to tell him: his new life is just too boring... Bykov decides to quit medicine altogether, but everyone, including Boar, tells that he must reconsider. He finally gives up and choses to stay... but Alisa decides to leave.

Lobanov's patient is a very attractive woman... who straight-up tells Semyon that she needs a sexual partner, and Lobanov may be right candidate for this; now, he is not sure what to do. Gleb suggests him to just play along and see how it would end. Lobanov tries to tell her that he is not okay with this, only for her to try and bribe him into sex. Lobanov barely resists this temptation and still refuses... only for his landlady to appear and remind him that Semyon owes her for two months already. Now, his only chance is to accept that offer... except, she already hired the orderly Pyotr.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Basement-Dweller: Alisa tells Gleb that "real men" do not live with their parents, and now he tries to find a money to rent new apartment.
  • Bookend: Episode starts with Bykov falling on a wet floor. It ends in him attempting to run from the hospital, only to fall on that same wet floor again.
  • Do You Want to Copulate?: The first thing Lobanov's patient does is to tell him that she needs a sexual partner, and Semyon may be the right candidate for this. Lobanov is rather horrified by this.
  • Imagine Spot: After Bykov tells her just how boring his life as a medic is, Alisa imagines her becoming just like him (complete with glasses). She doesn't like those perspectives and decides that Bykov was right all along: medicine is not for her. In the same scene, Gleb becomes the "new Kupitman"... while still remaining dependent on his mother's money; this is what convinces Alisa to dump Gleb and leave.
  • No Guy Wants to Be Chased: Lobanov's patient just straight up tell hims that she needs a sexual partner, and Semyon may be the right candidate for this. Lobanov is rather horrified by this, but Gleb suggests him to just try and see by himself, maybe it would be not so bad after all. Lobanov tries to tell her that he is not okay with this and that he has some "standards", but she then tries to bribe him with a very big sum of money. While he still refuses, the look of his face clearly tells how hard it was to resist the temptation. Unfortunately, he soon realises what he desperately needs those money, after he already rejected her...
  • Perpetual Poverty: Lobanov is low on money again... which is the problem, since he owes his landlady for two months. Unfortunately, he only realises this just after he rejected his only opportunity to acquire those money, and by the time he decides to accept the offer, she just hires the orderly Pyotr.
  • Put on a Bus: Alisa decides to abandon both her attempt to become a doctor and relationship with Gleb, and return to her mother in St. Petersburg.
  • 10-Minute Retirement: After meeting his old friend, a biker Boar, Bykov decides to quit his job as Doctor Bykov, and return to his past life as the biker Lizard. Boar snaps him out of it, because he needs not "Lizard", but Doctor Bykov, who can cure him. And without him, this hospital would simply cease to work. After his attempt to run fails when he falls on the wet floor, Bykov decides to stay.
