Recap / The Interns S 3 E 15

Go To

Kisegach fakes the heart attack to force Bykov and Romanenko to stop fighting each other in her presence. Now, to "protect" her from further harm, they must pretend to be nice to each other whenever she can see them... but they quickly learns the truth and confront Kisegach about this.

Levin's mother decides to pay him a visit, to see his new girlfriend in person. And she's just as insufferable as him, if not worse. He lies to her about his girl being dead, but then Lyuba tries to tell her the truth, which leads them to conflict. When his mother's mistreat of Lyuba comes too far, Levin, for the first time, tells her to leave them alone.

Varya's patient is too bold in his advances on her (and pretends to have ninety nine girls prior to meeting her), so she gets rid of him by sending him to Kupitman. When he doesn't find anything, Varya suggests to fake some illnesses anyway, just to "teach guy a lesson"... only to learn that the patient lied about his "achievements". She tells him to just be himself, instead of pretending to be somebody else. Though she still wouldn't be his girl.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Casanova Wannabe: Varya's patient is too bold in his advances on her. When he claims that he had ninety nine girls before her (thinking that it somehow would convince her that he is a good lover), she reacts... by sending him to Kupitman, since someone as sexually active as him can possibly be infected with something nasty. He isn't, but Varya asks Kupitman to fake his results anyway, to "teach him a lesson"... but it turns out that he just lied to her, and now the guy is scared (and also "knows" who'd infected him).
  • Conflict Killer: Kisegach fakes a heart attack to stop Bykov and Romanenko from fighting each other. When they finds out the truth, they temporarily unites... against her.
  • Dating What Daddy Hates: Levin's mother is here, to see his "girl", about whom she already has a very negative opinion (based on just the fact that he chose to hide her even from his mother). In attempt to hide from her the fact that his girlfriend is Lyuba (who managed to go into conflict with her right from the start), Levin lies that his girlfriend is dead; unfortunately, Levin's mother decides to learn more about her, for which she asks... Lyuba. Lyuba proceeds to describe herself, and learns that Levin's mother actually doesn't hate what Lyuba described to her... until Lyuba formally introduces herself as Levin's girlfriend, and learns that Levin's mother only complimented Lyuba because it's considered to be rude to criticise the dead.
  • Like Fatherlike Son: Levin's mother decides to pay him a visit. It quickly becomes apparent that his "best" qualities were inherited from her.
  • Manipulative Bastard: Kisegach spends the whole episode pretending to have heart issues, to stop Bykov and Gleb from fighting each other. When she comes too far with it, they realise the truth, and unites against her.
  • My Beloved Smother: Levin's mother controls his every step. But when she mistreats Lyuba too much, he finally gathers enough courage to tell her to leave them alone.
  • Out of Focus: Lobanov doesn't appear in this episode.
  • Really Gets Around: Subverted. Varya's patient lies that he had "ninety nine" girls before Varya in attempt to "impress" her; in reality, he had only two, and one of them "doesn't count". Unfortunately, Varya learns about this after her attempt to fake his analyses, so now he thinks that he was infected by his ex.
  • Trial Balloon Question: When Levin's mother asks Lyuba about Levin's "dead girlfriend" (who she was?), Lyuba describes herself, to try and see wether it is safe to reveal that said "dead girlfriend" is, in fact, Lyuba herself.
