Eon using Kaossandra’s dark spell book to send Crash Bandicoot home comes at the cost of him being corrupted by darkness and getting more and more sick by the moment. To find a cure, the team must travel to the Isle of the Citadel where the Core of Light is located. But while they are busy with that, Kaos, Kaossandra and the Doom Raiders are all infiltrating Skylanders Academy for the same goal: the dark spell book, which eventually leads to everyone teaming up. The team is now racing against time to stop two different atrocities.
This episode provides examples of:
- The Aloner: Poor Dale has to stay on the Isle of the Citadel as the form of the second obstacle without any friends after the team solve his riddle.
- The Corruption: Eon suffered this as a result of using the spell book to send Crash home. The more the darkness inside him grows, the more hostile he becomes to other characters like Hugo, creating a deadline for the Skylanders’ mission.
- I Have No Son!: After Kaos chooses to side with the Doom Raiders over Kaossandra, she tells him to never show his face around her castle again.
- I Lied: Golden Queen and the Doom Raiders agreed to team up with Kaossandra on the condition that she gets her spell book while they can have whatever they want from the relics room. When they do get to the relics room, Golden Queen breaks the agreement by taking Kaossandra’s spell book and then ordering the Doom Raiders to leave. Kaossandra responds to this by charging up a spell to blast them with, complete with a “Then you leave me no choice” beforehand.
- Infodump: Eon drops one at the beginning of the episode when he gives the background of what he did after the Great War, the Isle of the Citadel and the academy.
- Manipulative Bastard: Golden Queen gets Kaos to join them by pointing out how his mother has been holding him back on his powers and turned him into the laughing stock among the villains of Skylands. This makes Kaos ask his mother why she refuses to teach him how to grow stronger, and when Kaossandra doesn’t tell him why and asks him to take her word for it, he chooses to side with Golden Queen instead.
- Missed Him by That Much: The team returns to the academy just seconds after the Doom Raiders and Kaos leave the place.
- Screw the Rules, I Make Them!: This is the Golden Queen's attempt at justifying to the other Doom Raiders why she would also try to steal Kaossandra's spell book for herself even though they all agreed to do it as a group the next day.Dreamcatcher: So, why are you here?Golden Queen: Because... uh, because, I am your leader and can do whatever I want, and never question my questionable motives!
- Undying Loyalty: At the end of the episode, Glumshanks shows that he is forever loyal to Kaossandra and not Kaos by immediately siding with her instead of following what Kaos does.
- Villain Team-Up: Kaossandra and the Doom Raiders team up to have a better chance at attacking the academy. While there, Kaos and Glumshanks get into the mix as well.
- Wham Episode: Kaos chooses to go with the Doom Raiders instead of his mother and Glumshanks, and Eon and Kaossandra are established to have a connection as Eon gives her spell book back to her.
