Includes examples of:

  • Comically Missing the Point: Elaine begs a stranger to let her use his apartment to order food, then pretends to live in the janitor's closet, then goes along with the facade of being the janitor when she's caught by the superintendent. This is quite possibly the most pathetic she's been in the entire series, yet she still thinks this is "better than eating in the restaurant alone like some loser".
  • Dropped in the Toilet: One of the plot points is Jerry accidentally dropping his girlfriend's toothbrush in the toilet and not telling her before she uses it. This causes him to start obsessing over the toothbrush being in her mouth, which affects their relationship.
Elaine: You still couldn't kiss her?
Jerry: She has a taint. I can't see it, but I know it's there.
Elaine: Oh, so now you're finding fault on a sub-atomic level.
  • Eating Lunch Alone: What Elaine finds so unpalatable—"like some loser"—that she'd rather pretend to live in a janitor's closet in order to get a Chinese restaurant to deliver food to her.
  • Exact Words: As revenge for not stopping her from using her contaminated toothbrush, Jerry's girlfriend tells him she put something of his in the toilet. Turns out it is his toilet brush.
  • Hypocrite: Elaine is so desperate to get Chinese food delivered that she's pretending to live in a janitor's closet, and even pretending to be a janitor herself, but considers eating in the restaurant alone to be the actions of "some loser".
  • Implausible Deniability: The landlord catches Elaine sneaking out of the janitor's closet and demands to know what she was doing in there. After babbling for a few seconds while trying to come up with an excuse, Elaine just bluntly declares "I wasn't in there."
  • Mistaken for Servant: Elaine is assumed to be the building's janitor after the landlord catches her sneaking out of the closet.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: At the end of the episode when George's jackhammer hits the sewer line, Jenna's toilet sprays water all over her
Jerry: Holy cow! Have a nice life.
  • Shout-Out: to Fantastic Voyage
  • Unusually Uninteresting Sight: Elaine, dressed like a custodian and carrying multiple bags of garbage, walks past George, dressed like a construction worker and doing road work and simply smile and nod "Hi" to each other, with nary a Double Take from either, completely unfazed by the stark departure from their customary daily life/jobs.
