The kids struggle with their new lives as Runaways but find a hideout. Alex goes to work for Darius while PRIDE plots to kill Jonah. Jonah initiates a plan to build a new box.
- Bait-and-Switch:
- The episode starts with the Runaways' parents being invited to a police precinct under the premise that their kids have been found. The kids the cops apprehended might as well been the Stunt Doubles for the real Runaways.
- Later on, Alex goes to Darius for help because the group needs money. He has him put on an overall and hands him some foil and a drill, presumably to clean up a crime scene. Turns out he wants Alex to renovate the room, that will serve as his baby's nursery. The whole ominous setup was just Darius trolling Alex.
- Bavarian Fire Drill: Chase and Karolina act like a couple of rich white kids to get the keys of a SUV at a restaurant
- Cruel and Unusual Death: Tina murders Graciela by choking her with the powers of her staff.
- Due to the Dead: Nico sets up a wicca funeral for Graciela.
- The Gadfly: Darius has a lot of fun setting Alex up to think he's going to help commit and then cover up a murder. Turns out he's gonna do some painting.
- Green-Eyed Monster: Discussed. The Runaways argue if Alex didn't want to save Karolina because she just hooked up with Nico, but Alex rebuffs it by saying that he didn't even know that Karolina and Nico are a thing.
- He Knows Too Much: Graciela, Molly's aunt (or rather second cousin) gets targeted by PRIDE after she unwisely boasts about having proof of the organization's criminal deeds. The Yorkeses want to deal with her peacefully, but when she starts attacking them, Tina murders her.
- Lame Pun Reaction: The bum who steals the Fistigons is called "Mike on a bike." Cut to Chase proclaiming that his nickname is "Chase", as he grabs a bike himself and chases after him. Gert dryly remarks that it isn't even a nickname.
- Minion with an F in Evil: The Yorkeses once again prove that they're just no good at being bad. Their plan to memory-wipe Graciela ends with them hiding from her behind a couch while she grandstands with a shotgun.
- Moral Myopia: Geoffrey, who was trigger-happy enough to immediately suggest killing Graciela for being a potential risk is for some reason unnerved when Tina reports having done exactly that. Though it's perhaps because of Tina's method.
- Mythology Gag: The Runaways at one point debate if Alex is a mole. In the mainstream comics he indeed was.
- Title Drop: By Nico: "We suck at being Runaways."
- Tyrant Takes the Helm: Tina takes control of PRIDE, with Geoffrey as her co-captain, at the end of the episode.
