- Brain Theft: Stimpy removes Ren's brain and replaces it with a telephone.

- End of an Era: This is the last episode written by John Kricfalusi, and the last episode where he voices Ren (via archival recording).
- Freak Out: Ren’s Brain has one when he gets home and finds Stimpy hanging out with his brainless body, mistaking it for another chihuahua.
- Gainax Ending: Stimpy is fighting to sedate Ren's disembodied brain. The audience watching the episode is so freaked out that their brains explode, and it sets off a chain reaction of head explosions that destroys the Earth. Afterwards, a narrator ominously intones "And thus endeth the Republican party as we know it", while Ren's brain drifts through space with a shout of "You eediot!"
