The latest threat from Ultra Space arrives in the form of Pheromosa, and it goes right for Hala. But this emergency becomes complicated when Meowth ends up smitten with the svelte Ultra Beast beauty.
This episode contains examples of the following tropes:
- Actually Pretty Funny: James and Wobbuffet struggle to contain their laughter towards Meowth's bizarre crush.
- Beware the Nice Ones: Bewear is normally a gentle Pokémon that dotes on Team Rocket like they were her own family. However, as demonstrated in this episode, Team Rocket learns that even their bear guardian is more than capable of going on a Mama Bear rampage if her loved ones are hurt. Her rage towards Pheromosa is enough to make all of them, including Mimikyu, are all reasonably scared.
- Curbstomp Battle:
- All of both Team Rocket's and the Ultra Guardians' Pokemon at hand are quickly swatted away by Phermosa.
- Bewear then promptly returns the favour. Despite Phermosa's best attempts to overpower Bewear, she No Sells everything it throws at her, and promptly knocks it out with one hard punch to the stomach.
- Curb-Stomp Cushion: Wobbuffet is the only Pokemon prior to this to put up at least a brief resistance, blocking one of Pheromosa's kicks with a Counter. She eventually overpowers it however.
- Easily Forgiven: When an ashamed Meowth attempts to apologise over selling out to Pheromosa, Bewear, Stufful and the rest of Team Rocket all offer to eat together as a succinct peace offering.
- Everyone Has Standards: Although they are enemies, even the Ultra Guardians are rather shocked to find Pheromosa was just using Meowth. Mallow and Tsareena are outright angered by this.
- Mythology Gag: Throughout the episode, Meowth refers to Pheromosa as "Beauty." In the games, the code name the Aether Foundation uses for Pheromosa is "UB-02 Beauty."
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Pheromosa is finally the one to provoke Bewear's long-hidden wrath, having incapacitated Jessie and James, and left Meowth a heartbroken mess.
- Oh, Crap!: During the battle against Bewear, Pheromosa looks rightfully scared upon seeing how angry Bewear is.
- You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: After collecting the Ultra Guardians' Z-Crystals, Pheromosa (literally) kicks Meowth to curb and walks off, making clear it only saw him as means to her goal.
