After hearing from Barry that all the Steel-types on Iron Island are going crazy, Ash and company head over here to discover the reason.
- Ax-Crazy: The effects of Team Galactic's sound waves to find the Spear Pillar makes all the Steel types behave uncontrollaby, becoming a danger for the others and themselves.
- Continuity Nod: Team Rocket complain that Barry never let them finish their motto.
- Cruel to Be Kind: Riley warns the twerps that if they wants to help the Pokemon, they might have to attack Steel-types who are not in control of themselves. They admit is not an easy thing to do.
- Curb-Stomp Battle: Mars defeats with little effort Barry and Team Rocket.
- Enemy Mine: Barry and Team Rocket team up against Team Galactic. It doesn't really helps them.
- Instantly Proven Wrong: When she sees Ash, Dawn and Brock at the docks, Jessie is sured they are going to Dawn's next Contest, only for them to turn right toward the boat for Iron Island.
- Leeroy Jenkins: Despite being told to wait for them, Barry (of course), runs off on his own before Ash, Dawn and Brock even arrive on the island.
- No-Sell: Riley's Lucario's Aura allows him to resist the effect of the soundwaves. At least until Mars turns up the juice, overcoming his defences.
- Not Me This Time: Barry is quick to accuse Team Rocket of being responsable for the condition of Steel-types, but they have no idea what he is talking about, since it's Team Galactic's fault.
