Everyone is understandably shocked that the twins have turned into deer, especially since Starlight doesn't know how to turn them back. This makes Mrs. Cake angry and mouthy, but Starlight does have a solution: ask Spike for help.
Spike then arrives and Starlight tells him about the situation, then both twins need to be changed. Starlight (who they don't seem to be concerned about infection anymore for reasons unexplained) changes Pound, while Spike changes Pumpkin. In the process, Pumpkin develops a crush on Spike.
He leaves to deliver a onesie to Flurry Heart and Pumpkin starts fawning (no pun intended) over him. Pound tells him that Spike already has feelings for Pinkie Pie's friend Rarity, and besides Pumpkin is too young for love. Pumpkin, however, reveals that Pound has a crush on Flurry Heart.
Twilight and Spike arrive and turn the twins back into ponies. Starlight feels very guilty for apparently being a living disaster zone: apparently she was the one who turned Twilight into a kangaroo and Twilight only lied, and now there's all this. She decides to give up studying for awhile.
This chapter provides examples of

- The Diaper Change: Both twins get changed by Spike and Starlight.
- Downer Ending: The chapter ends with Starlight feeling very down on herself and going away to rest.
- Faint in Shock: Mr. Cake loses consciousness when Starlight reveals she doesn't know how to turn the twins back.
- Good News, Bad News: At the beginning, Starlight says that the good news is the twins are unharmed, but the bad news is she doesn't know how to turn them back to normal.
- Hypocrite: Pound says that Pumpkin is too young to have a crush, despite having one himself and being the same age.
- Mistakes Are Not the End of the World: Twilight attempts to console Starlight by saying that everyone makes mistakes, but she still feels down on herself for being accident prone.
- Puppy Love:
- Pumpkin develops a crush on Spike despite being only about two.
- Apparently, Pound has a crush on Flurry Heart even though he's also about two and she's about one.
- Snark Ball: Mrs. Cake says, "Just great" even though she doesn't normally talk like a rude high-schooler.
- What Happened to the Mouse?: In the last chapter, which takes place only a few minutes before this one, Starlight is sleepy from her flu and isn't allowed near the twins for fear of contagion. Here, however, she seems perfectly fine and is allowed to change Pound's diaper.
