The Ninja split up, with Lloyd, Cole and Zane going to explore the museum for clues, while Nya and Kai investigate their own mysteries.
Tropes:
- Bratty Half-Pint: Scales Junior. Jay finds his attitude endearing, even though half that attitude is because Jay's setting him off.
- The Call Put Me on Hold: Skylor tries to ask to join in tracking down Kai and Nya's parents, but is unthinkingly declined by them, leaving her put out.
- Comfort Food: Skylor eats noodles when she's down. Nya's remarks and then getting left behind get her down enough to try some of her own food, which does at least cheer her up.
- Commonality Connection: After thinking he's found out about his father, Kai goes to see Skylor, figuring she's the only one who'd know what it's like to find out their father is evil.
- Pull the Thread: Samurai X tries to claim they're Ronin, only for Nya to remember Ronin broke his leg the other day. Then they try claiming they're Dareth, but as they fight Nya points out this proves they can't be him. They try Misako, but Nya notes Misako's too honorable to act how X has been acting.
- The Reveal: Subverted. Nya thinks she's found out who Samurai X is — Skylor — only to find her sitting and talking with Kai in her father's restaurant.
- Secret Identity: Whoever Samurai X is, they say their identity is hidden to protect friends and loved ones.
- Tantrum Throwing: Jay, still in a bad mood over everything the Brothers have done, starts trying to vent his fury on the museum exhibits, forcing Zane to catch them.
- Voice Changeling: The new Samurai X hides their identity with one, first pretending to be Ronin, then Dareth, then Misako, before cycling through Kai, Nya herself, Lord Garmadon, Master Wu, and Skylor.
