This episode provides examples of:
- Big Damn Heroes: The new Samurai X shows up to save Lloyd.
- Failed a Spot Check: When Samurai X shows up, the ninja figure it must have been Nya, and she'd merely been pretending about the whole "snakes stole my armor" scenario, only as they're talking Nya is right next to them.
- Frying Pan of Doom: Misako fights off a Vermillion Warrior with a frying pan, which proves able to block a freshly-made sword and overcome the warrior's armor.
- Nonchalant Dodge: Type 1. After Lloyd breaks a pod full of swords mid-air and begins falling where the Hands of Time are, Machia and the Time Twins barely move to avoid them while being rather calm about nearly being pierced by falling swords.
- No One Could Survive That!: The Samurai X armor takes a boulder to the chest, mid-flight, and plummets to the ground below, smashing into a fireball. However, Nya's confident whoever the new X is, they've survived.
- Running Gag: Jay and Kai continue to mock the name Vermillion Warriors, until Zane points out how it's actually quite appropriate after all.
- The Unreveal: Kai tries to get Master Wu to divulge what he knows about his father's symbol, but before Wu can the Brothers attack again.
