While Jason and Tommy are teaching another martial arts class together, Rita decides to send in the Slippery Shark to put a spell on the two, turning them into enemies. The Rangers are thus forced to deal with the Slippery Shark while also trying to stop Jason and Tommy's growing fight before their friendship is destroyed forever.
Tropes:
- Call-Back: Billy is glad he got over his fear of fish in "Something Fishy" after seeing the Slippery Shark.
- Fragile Speedster: True to his name, Slippery Shark is pretty nimble, especially during his fight with the zords. Get a decent hit on him, however, and he goes down easily.
- Hate Plague: Jason and Tommy get hit by one of these turning them into mortal enemies until the spell is broken.
- Shark Man: The Slippery Shark is notable since he's based on the hammerhead variety and not the more iconic great white.
- Smart Ball: Upon seeing the Rangers forming their Power Blaster, Rita quickly does her Make My Monster Grow routine before the blast can touch the Slippery Shark.
- There Are No Rules: Bulk makes it a point just before Jason and Tommy begin their fight.
- Threatening Shark: The Slippery Shark is not a traditional maneater, but his spell over Jason and Tommy does genuinely threaten their friendship until they can overcome him.
- Volleying Insults: The spell causes Jason and Tommy to become argumentative. Tommy thinks the former flaunts his authority and acts like a Know-Nothing Know-It-All, whereas Jason sees the latter as a show-off and thinks the team was doing fine before he came along.
- Wrecked Weapon: During the Zord battle in the climax, the Megazord slices the Slippery Shark's boomerang fin in half. His Berserk Button quickly turns into an Oh, Crap! when he sees the Power Sword glowing for the finisher.
