Due to a lack of personnel the Special Missions Annex need more member. Eve Ignite enlists the help of Re=L, Albert, Bernard, and Christoph.
Tropes:
- Butt-Monkey: Saying that nothing goes right for Eve in this story is an Understatement.
- Foil: Except for Eve, the way the others choose members are foils towards each other.
- Re=L and Albert pick members by using themselves as benchmarks. In Albert's case no one is chosen due to him being too Strong and Skilled and in Re=L's case everyone is chosen since she only excels in swordsmanship and alchemy which makes them more skilled and stronger in other areas.
- Bernard and Christoph both look for dates. In Bernard's case, he looks for a cute girl he trains himself, and in Christoph's case, he looks for a man to marry Eve due to being worried that she will remain unmarried the way she is.
- Foregone Conclusion: Considering the fact that volume 7 of Akashic Records only showed Eve, Albert, Re=L, Christoph, and Bernard as members of the Special Missions Annex. It is clear that they would not succeed in finding anyone to join them.
- Rage Breaking Point: When testing the other candidates in a proof battle, Eve endures the insults of Crow and his room, but ends up giving in to her anger when he insults Glenn.
- "Shaggy Dog" Story: In the end, the Special Missions Annex does not gain any new members due to them being scared off by Eve's strength.
- Shameful Strip: One female candidate was attacked by Re=L who shredded the clothing she was wearing, thankfully before she ran out Christoph managed to put a barrier around her to prevent anyone from seeing her naked.
- Spell My Name With An S: Eve's last name is spelled "Ignight" instead of "Ignite"
