Original Airdate: April 5, 2020

Summary

While Juru and Sena are away supporting Tametomo with his game, the rest of the team discover three additional Kiramai Stones. Unsatisfied with how Juru is designated as the leader and not Tametomo, Shovellow hatches a plan...

Meanwhile, all the rangers are alerted to an attack by Joystick Jamen. Kiramai Green saves a forklift operator from Joystick Jamen's control, but the later then turn his focus towards Kiramai Blue. The team have to fight one of their own while dealing with the main monster, but Kiramai Yellow has a get-around idea: while Pink holds Blue off, Green distracts Joystick Jamen and Red gives Yellow a boost for a shooting attack. The bullets lodge into Joystick Jamen's controls, rendering it useless. He has to retreat for a while.

Tropes specific to this episode

  • Dark and Troubled Past: A mild example of this. Tametono's grandfather ended up dying of a heart attack the same day he screamed at him for buying the wrong video game. It's heavily implied that because of this, he can't seem to truly call out Shovellow.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Shovellow tries to have Juru discredited as a leader by having him give forms to the three Kiramai Stones that are still newborns (meaning that they weren't supposed to have forms until way later). He then gets the great idea to form his own team with said Mashins, with Tametomo as the leader. However, this just causes the others (including Tametomo!) to rally behind Juru to get Shovellow to back off, while the new Mashins are too young to choose their own human partners, making his plans to form a separate team all for nothing.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Tametono screamed at his grandfather back when he was a child because his grandfather bought the wrong game. What ended up happening was that his grandfather ended up dying of a heart attack that same night.
  • Parting-Words Regret: Tametono's last words to his grandfather were him screaming that he hated him, just because the latter bought the wrong video game. Judging by his indulgence of Shovellow, he's still haunted by that incident.
  • Pop-Culture Pun Episode Title: The episode title is a reference to the manga Kōtarō Makaritōru! which, in regards to Kiramager's Idiosyncratic Episode Naming motif, was adapted into a 1984 live-action film by Toei. note
  • Shout-Out:
    • The mecha battle is one big reference to Pac-Man, from the cartoonish movements all the way to the sound effects!
  • The Strategist: Tametono gets to put his skills to the test by coming up with a plan that gets both Shovellow to back off and defeat the MOTW. It works spectacularly, thanks to some simple camera tricks and good ol' strong-arming of the Jamenshi.
  • You Remind Me of X: The reason why Tametono can't seem to call out Shovellow: the latter reminds him of his deceased grandfather.
