- Abusive Parents: Victor's sociopathy extends to his elderly children, uncaring that Death threatened to take them. When it becomes clear that Death won't do it, he slits their throats in a vain attempt at remedying it.
- Death Is a Loser: The episode establishes The Grim Reaper as a loser who, beyond his Large Ham tendencies, is insecure about Victo's low opinion of him.
